Our Mission
Wallet product pages and marketing copy rarely surface the technical details that decide whether a device or app fits your threat model and workflow. Our mission is to make those details visible, comparable, and easy to filter, so you can make a confident decision without reading dozens of spec sheets, manuals, and forum threads.
We cover hardware wallets, software wallets, nodes, seed backup products, inheritance services, and Bitcoin books. For each category we track the attributes that matter for security, sovereignty, interoperability, and long-term reliability.
Who Operates the Site
The Bitcoin Hole is operated by a small independent team of software engineers and Bitcoin self-custody enthusiasts. We have hands-on experience with hardware wallets, multi-sig setups, PSBT workflows, and the broader open-source Bitcoin stack. The site is built and maintained directly by its operators, not by a content agency.
Editorial Methodology
Our comparisons are built from a structured database, not free-form articles. Each product entry follows the same schema, which keeps comparisons consistent across brands and over time.
The data on each product comes from a combination of manufacturer documentation (spec sheets, user manuals, developer docs), official source code repositories, release notes, and direct verification when devices or apps are tested in-house.
Product entries are reviewed and updated as firmware releases, new features, or vendor changes affect the data. When information cannot be confirmed from a primary source, the field is left empty rather than guessed.
Independence and Affiliate Disclosure
We are not owned by, funded by, or contracted to any wallet manufacturer. Brands cannot pay to be added, removed, reordered, or rated more favorably. Some product links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you if you purchase through them. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products are listed, the data shown for them, or how they are ranked in our comparisons.
Corrections
If you spot an inaccuracy in a product entry, an outdated feature status, or a missing device, we want to fix it. Send corrections, suggestions, or general inquiries to info@thebitcoinhole.com.
